Prospective undergraduate researchers
Applications for lab positions are typically open
November-January for a Spring semester start and May-August for
a Fall semester start. If you are interested in joining the lab,
please download and fill out an application
and email it to sonia.singhal@sjsu.edu.
You will receive notification about your application within 1
week.
Undergraduate students are encouraged to apply at any stage of
their academic career. All necessary training is provided in the
laboratory. Please see our FAQ for undergraduate
researchers or contact Dr. Singhal directly with any other
questions about working in the laboratory as an undergraduate.
If you are interested in a Master's position in the PhAGE lab,
please contact Dr. Singhal at sonia.singhal@sjsu.edu
with the following information:
- A 1-2 paragraph statement that explains your interest in the
PhAGE lab and how you think it will contribute to your
academic or career goals.
- A brief description of prior research experience, if any.
This can include capstone experiences or class projects where
you gathered information to answer an open-ended question.
- A CV or resume
- Unofficial transcript(s)
Master's students are able to apply for Fall and Spring start
dates. You will need to submit an application for an M.S. in the
Department of Biological Sciences at SJSU the semester before
your expected start date for admittance into the PhAGE lab.
